Chief Minister Chairs meeting of High Powered Land Purchase Committee

• As many as seven agendas pertaining to the purchase of landholdings of about 311 acres costing Rs 172 crore approved
• Landholdings to be purchased through e-Bhoomi for construction various projects in four districts
• Landowners who have consented to give their lands for proposed government projects in these districts also attended the meeting
• Chandigarh, August 27: Haryana Chief Minister, while chairing the meeting of the High Powered Land Purchase Committee (HPLPC) here today accorded approval to make negotiation amounting to Rs. 172.08 crore with the landowners for the landholdings to be purchased through e-Bhoomi for setting up seven projects of Medical Education and Research, Public Works (B&R), Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board and Public Health Engineering Departments in six districts namely Rewari, Nuh, Sirsa, Faridabad, Sonipat and Jind.
• The Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal while chairing the HPLPC meeting with the Deputy Commissioners held through video-conferencing said that after the purchase of these landholdings the work of the proposed projects to be set up on the lands voluntarily given by landowners in these six districts should be expedited at the earliest. Landowners who have consented to give their lands for proposed government projects also attended the meeting.
• Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala and Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Sh. J.P Dalal also remained present in the meeting.
• Later while addressing the media persons for divulging project details, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that a total of seven agendas pertaining to the purchase of landholdings in six districts namely Rewari, Nuh, Sirsa, Faridabad, Sonipat and Jind of four departments including Medical Education and Research, Public Works (B&R), Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board, Public Health Engineering were discussed in the meeting.
• “All the seven agendas tabled in the meeting were approved after making negotiations with the landowners. The list of projects approved includes the Establishment of All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Rewari, Construction of Ring Road from four laning Medical College Road to Gurugram Alwar Road (NH 248 A) in Nuh district, Development of Additional Anaj Mandi at Sirsa, Construction of Road and Bridge for Greater Noida via Jasana Manjhawali Atta Gujran over Yamuna River under Interstate Connectivity Scheme of Central Road Fund, Construction of two lanes ROB in Delhi Ambala section in Sonipat District Near Ganaur Railway Station, Providing sewerage system and Construction of STP in village Chautala under Mahagram Yojana and Construction of canal-based water supply scheme Jind city” shared the Chief Minister.
• He further informed that around 200 acres of land is required for the construction of All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Rewari district, of which around 140 acres land of private landowners has been purchased today after making required negotiations, while about 60 acres of land is Panchayat land.
• Responding to the question regarding, Opposition leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda terming The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Haryana Amendment) Bill, 2021 as anti-farmer, the Chief Minister said that the Bill has been passed so as to ensure smooth commencement and completion of linear development, essential and emergency projects.
• “In the said Act now a new system of land acquisition would be followed excluding social impact, while the Compensation clause in the Bill is unchanged,” informed the Chief Minister.
• He said that as earlier land acquisition was a lengthy process because of which various development projects suffered unnecessary delays, therefore now the State Government has already made a system where the purchase of landholdings from farmers and landowners is being done with their consent through the e-Bhoomi portal, ensuring least litigation chances.
• Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D. S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (B&R) Department, Sh. Alok Nigam,  Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, Sh. Devender Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Sh. T.V.S.N. Prasad, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Uma Shankar,  Principal Secretary, General Administration Department, Sh. Vijayendra Kumar,  Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Smt. Ashima Brar Director, Consolidation of Land Holdings and Land Records, Ms. Amna Tasneem and other senior officers attended the meeting.
