CM announces opening of SDM office and Degree College at Kupvi
Inaugurates and lays foundation stones of 46 developmental projects worth Rs. 180 crore at Kupvi Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today performed inaugurations and foundation stones of 46 developmental projects worth about Rs. 180 crore at Kupvi in Chopal assembly constituency of Shimla district. While addressing a massive public meeting at Kupvi, Chief Minister announced opening of SDM office and Degree College at Kupvi besides JE Sections of PWD, Jal Shakti and HPSEB limited at Balghar. He also announced opening of PHC at Kothi Halog and upgradation of PHC Chailla to CHC. He also announced upgradation of Veterinary Dispensary Pulbahal to Veterinary Hospital and construction of helipad at Gadala in Chopal. Chief Minister said that Rs 180 crore projects dedicated and foundation stone of which was laid by him today would transform the life of the people of the area and would add wings to development. He said that the present State Government was working without any vengeance and vendetta and ensuring equitable development of the State.
He said that from the day one the Government ensured that no one was victimized politically and main focus was laid on development of the State. Jai Ram Thakur accused the previous State Government for dividing the people of the State even on colour of the caps. He said that during the last about four years, the State Government has ensured that all the areas of the State and every section of the society get benefitted from the policies and programmes initiated by the Government. He said that the very first decision of the State Government was aimed at welfare of the old people and the Government lowered the age limit for availing the benefits of the old age pension from 80 years to 70 years. He said that today lakhs of old people were being provided Rs. 1500 pension per month. Chief Minister said that 3.25 lakh gas connections were provided to the eligible families under the Grihini Suvidha Yojana. He said that as many as 2.07 lakh families have been benefitted under the HIMCARE Yojana and under Mukhya Mantri Sahara Yojana Rs. 3000 per month were being provided to family with a critically ill patients and about 17000 people has been registered under this scheme. He said that Jan Manch programme and Chief Minister Sewa Sankalp Helpline-1100 has also proved a boon to the people for redressal of their grievances. He said that Shagun scheme has been launched in the State to provide financial assistance of Rs. 31,000 to girls belonging to the BPL families of the State at the time of their marriage.
He said that all these schemes have transformed the economy of the State and its people. He said the Congress Government did nothing for the welfare of the common man as they were busy in their own development. Jai Ram Thakur said the steps taken by the State Government in tackling the spread of corona virus has been appreciated by the Prime Minister and by other states. He said that the Congress remained in power for last about 50 years in State as well as at Centre. He said that about three years back, there were only two oxygen plants in the State and today the state has 32 PSA oxygen plants. He said that there were only 50 ventilators in the State when this pandemic broke out. He said that he took up the matter with the Prime Minister and immediately 500 new ventilators were provided under the PM CARES for the State. He said that today there were over 1000 fully functional ventilators in various hospitals in the State.
He directed the contractors to ensure that all the developmental works were completed well in time otherwise strict action would be taken against them. He appreciated the local MLA for taking keen interest in development of the area. Jai Ram Thakur also laid foundation stones of Rs. 17.44 crore LWSS to various habitations under IPH sub division Kupvi, Rs. 13.52 crore LWSS to various habitations under IPH Sub Division Chopal, Rs. 2.57 crore retrofitting of 28 ongoing completed GWSS/LWSS schemes under NRDWP in Chopal constituency to provide functional household tap connection under Jal Jiwan Mission, Rs.2.44 crore retrofitting of 5 ongoing LWSS schemes under NRDWP in Chopal constituency to provide functional household tap connection under Jal Jeevan Mission, Rs. 23 lakh remodeling/augmentation of GWSS Jai Grah, Sadrada, Dhankar, Mandal and Shilli etc. in G.P. MLA Chopal Balbir Verma while welcoming the Chief Minister in his home constituency said that being a far flung area, Kupvi needs special preference in matter of development.
He said he said that a few road projects were hanging fire due to FCA thus efforts must be made to get the clearances at the earliest so that road network in the area could be strengthened. He said that developmental projects worth Rs 500 crore were being executed in Chopal Vidhan Sabha area. He urged the Chief Minister to open SDM office at Kupvi, as the SDM headquarter of Chopal was over 100 kms from this place. He also urged the Chief Minister for opening Degree College at Kupvi and ITI at Balghar. He said that he would ensure the victory of BJP in 2022 elections. Vice Chairman State Civil Supplies Corporation Baldev Tomar said that Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has always been considerate towards the developmental demands of the people of the hard and difficult areas of the State. He said that the Chief Minister has always ensured that the backward area prosper along with the other areas of the State. Mandal President Mangat Ram Sharma and Chairman Panchayat Samiti Shayam Singh Panwar welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion and also detailed various developmental demands of the area.
