Ambassador of Afghanistan calls upon Punjab Governor
Chandigarh, January 11: Mr. Farid Mamundzay, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to India, during his visit to Punjab on Tuesday, called upon Mr. Banwarilal Purohit the Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh at Punjab Raj Bhavan.
The discussion between them pirouetted around “invigorating relationship” with Afghanistan and views were exchanged on issues of mutual interest.
Stating that India enjoys mature bilateral relations and strong socio-cultural linkages with Afghanistan, the Governor agreed upon the need for further strengthening economic and trade ties through vibrant partnership and joint ventures in different fields of activity. “There is immense scope for both to learn and grow through mutual exchange of each others ‘experience and expertise’, said Purohit.”
Ambassador Mamundzay extended his warm greetings and affirmed his commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations. He said that there is huge potential of trade with the State that needs to be tapped and accelerated. Sharing that a large number of Afghan students are studying in Higher Education Institutions of the State, he said that he saw huge potential for education for his country’s youth in Punjab.
