Chandigarh January 30: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that if the youth are shown the right direction and also if their energies are properly channelized then it will prove to be an effective way in ensuring all-round development of the nation. For this, it is also necessary for them to follow a competent guide.
The Chief Minister was interacting directly with 1500 youth through videoconferencing under ‘Rising Youth Talk’ programme here today. Paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his martyrdom day he said that Mahatma Gandhi is an idol of integrity and renunciation, the priest of non-violence, whose life will be an inspiration for generations to come. He said that youth need charioteer, companion and guru at every turn of life from which they can draw inspiration and constant guidance. He said that the youth should learn skilling abilities and dedicate their life for the benefits of others and learn to live for the country and society.
Priority to keep youth away from the tendency of intoxication
The Chief Minister said that a joint office of eight states has been opened in Panchkula to reduce the addiction of drugs among youth. Apart from this, the Anti Narcotics Bureau has been constituted. He said that there is a need to run a social campaign on the lines of Beti Bachao-Beti Badhao Abhiyan to make the youth more aware about the ill effects of drugs. Apart from this, people should also come forward at the individual level. He said that the CM Window is proving to be the best way to redress the problems of the people. About 10 lakh problems have come up in about 7 years, out of which 90 percent problems have been resolved. Citizens are satisfied with the immediate redressal of problems through the CM Window.
National development is the main mantra
The Chief Minister said that the caste system is dangerous for society. The government is working with the slogan ‘Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek’. He said that in the coming time greater goals will be set for the advancement of youth and political development. The Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi’s motto – Nation First, will definitely help the country to regain its tag of Vishwa Guru. He said that the government has developed the areas without any caste and political discrimination. To improve the social environment, emphasis has been laid on social, religious and cultural education. Apart from this, many more programmes will be run to show the right way to the people. Such programmes will increase the confidence of the public and social change will be an outcome of such programmes.
Working with the spirit of Antyodaya
The Chief Minister said that the margin of errors reduces while working with the spirit of Antyodaya. Through this justice is equally ensured for everyone without any favourism or discrimination. Our Government’s aim is to ensure that the last person standing in the queue should get the benefits of government schemes. For this, the Parivar Pehchan Patra scheme has been started. 54 schemes have already been linked with this scheme, in which data of 67 lakh families have been verified so far. Direct communication has been done with 90,000 families by organising Antyodaya Utthan Mela in the State. 75 percent reservation has been given to the youth for employment in private sectors. Bank loans up to Rs. 1 crore are being provided under the Mudra Yojana. He said that it has also been decided to give 5 percent additional marks to such families in which not a single member of the family is in the Government service.
Formation of Foreign Cooperation Department
The Chief Minister said that a scheme for making passports has been implemented for the students pursuing education in colleges. The Department of Foreign Cooperation has been formed for sending youth abroad. MoUs will be signed with foreign countries so that the youth do not face any difficulty. He said that a Skill Development University has also been set up in the state. It is working to make the youth skilled according to their ability and requirement.
Library set up at Chief Minister’s residence
The Chief Minister said that books are the real source of knowledge. Books bring change in personal and social life. A large library has also been set up at the Chief Minister’s residence which will be inaugurated soon by the Padma Shri awardees in the field of literature and sports hailing from Haryana.
Ease of Living Index
The Chief Minister said that on the lines of the Happiness Index of Bhutan, the grading of how citizens should be happy in Haryana is being done in the Ease of Living Index. Ration is being disbursed through depots through the PPP card. Apart from this, pension will automatically start for people who have attained the age of 60 years. Through various initiatives of the government the ease of the living of the common man has substantially improved.
Sports department will register youth clubs
The Chief Minister said that the work of registration of Yuva Mandal Sports Clubs would be given to the Sports and Youth Affairs so that maximum participation of youth could be ensured. There will be a provision of normal fee for this. He said that the parks and gymnasiums operated at the village level would be made under the youth clubs so that they could be maintained properly. He added that whenever he gets an opportunity to interact with the youth he gets filled with positive energy. The Chief Minister interacted with the youth for more than one and a half hour.
During the video conferencing interaction many youth joined the ‘Rising Youth Talk’ programme including Chief Minister’s OSD, Special Publicity Cell, Sh. Gajender Phogat, IT Consultant to CM, Sh. Dhruv Majumdar along with RJ Simran, Pawan Choudhary from Foreign Cooperation Department, Director Youth Welfare, CU, Sh. Manish Jangra.
