- Chandigarh, February 16: Haryana Sarasvati Heritage Development Board, Vice-Chairman, Shri Dhuman Singh Kirmach said that on the auspicious occasion of the 5th International Saraswati Festival and Basant Panchami, the board will now conduct evening aarti at the Saraswati shrine daily. Devotees will join the pilgrimage site during the evening Aarti and tourists will get attracted towards the Saraswati shrine.
- Shri Dhuman Singh Kirmach said this while speaking on the last day of the 5th International Saraswati Festival, at the 21 Kundi Havan and Yagya programme organized with the cooperation of the Board, Administration and Public at the Pehowa Saraswati shrine today.
- He said that there has been a big challenge before the government to bring the water stream of the oldest and sacred Saraswati river in the country. Now, with the efforts of Chief Minister, Shri Manohar Lal, preparations are being made to construct a dam and barrage in Adi Badri. The soil samples were sent to ONGC’s lab for examination. The design of the dam and barrage at this site will be ready by March, 31 2021 and the MoU will be signed between Haryana and Himachal government within a month. After this the project will get started at a fast pace.
- The Vice Chairman said that the government has prepared a detailed project to bring the holy river Saraswati to the ground. Under this project, a dam will be built first at the Saraswati Ascension site in Adi Badri and a Saraswati barrage will be constructed under it. This dam will be connected with Somanadi. Below this, Saraswati Sarovar will be constructed on 400 acres infertile land of 3 villages including village Rampur.
- The Vice Chairman said that after the survey, facts have now been revealed that there has been no obstruction in the flow of Saraswati river up to 200 km. In this 200-km drive flow route, some private land comes in Yamunanagar, which has been resolved. Notification of this land has also been done and it will be linked with Ghaggar River.
- He informed that 25 bridges have been constructed by the Board in the last 3 years and work has been done on more than 20 pilgrimage sites at the banks of river Saraswati.
