Punjab officers apprised Secretary Panchayati Raj Ministry GOI about mission Lal Lakir
Issues directions to ensure online audit of all Panchayats
Chandigarh, February 19:
The Punjab Government has launched the Mission Lal Lakir to give ownership rights to the inner inhabitants of the Red Line in the villages. Gurdaspur has been selected as a model district for this work. Apart from Gurdaspur, action has been initiated in four other districts under Mission Lal Lakir.
Financial Commissioner Revenue Shri Viswajeet Khanna briefed about this scheme during a meeting at Punjab Bhawan with the Secretary Ministry of Panchayati Raj, GOI, Mr. Sunil Kumar and Joint Secretary Mr. Alok Prem Nagar. This scheme was given approval during the Punjab Cabinet meeting here today. Secretary, Panchayati Raj GOI, while discussing the grants received from the Central Finance Commission, said that in future the process of audit of all panchayats should be made online so that the audit reports can also be seen by the general public. Additional Chief Secretary Revenue Mr. Viswajeet Khanna, Financial Commissioner Rural Development and Panchayats Department Mrs. Seema Jain, Secretary-cum-Director Rural Development and Panchayat Mr. Manpreet Singh and other senior officers attended this review meeting.
It was also discussed during the meeting that Panchayati Raj plans will now be easier to prepare for the Panchayati Raj Institutions, as they have prior information about the funds of the 15th Finance Commission for the next five years.
Additional Secretary Rural Development and Panchayat Raj GOI gave a presentation regarding National Village Swaraj Abhiyan Scheme.
The Central team also visited Sarsini and Batouli, the villages of Block Dera Bassi to review the ongoing development works under various schemes.
