- Chandigarh, March 1: Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited being State Power Transmission Utility is operating and maintaining the Intra–State Power Transmission system in the State of Haryana. HVPNL is fully committed to provide quality and economical transmission of power to the electricity consumers in the State. A number of innovative and pro-active steps have been taken by HVPNL, due to which the transmission system availability is in the range of 99.3 percent and the Intra State cumulative Transmission losses are 2.09 percent (up to January 2021) which are one of the best among the transmission utilities in India.
- During the ongoing financial year, the transmission system in the State has been further strengthened by adding five new sub-stations, three 220kV, one 132 kV, one 66kV and augmentation of 41 existing sub-stations resulting in an increase of capacity of 1979 MVA. Besides above, 246 circuit kms transmission lines have also been added during this year.
- Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department, Sh. P.K. Das informed that in order to further improve the reliability and quality of power supply, HVPNL has planned to add 7194 MVA by creating 11 new sub-stations and augmentation of 106 existing sub-stations and erection of 1057 circuit Kms transmission lines during FY 2021-22.
- He further informed that HVPNL has also initiated two important projects viz. ‘SAMAST’ (Scheduling, Accounting, Metering and Settlement of Transaction) in power sector and Reliable Communication and Data Acquisition System for 132 kV level also, to establish integrated IT systems for effective grid management at a cost of approximately Rs. 200 crore which include grant to the tune of Rs. 100 crore from Government of India.
