Army officers Delegation call on Governor
A delegation of 20 Army Officers from National Defence College called on Governor Bandaru Dattatraya at Raj Bhavan, today. They are on a study tour from 4th April to 10th April in Himachal Pradesh for National Security and Strategic Studies as a part of understanding India and Economic Security.
On the occasion, Governor Bandaru Dattatraya said that Himachal Pradesh was a peaceful hill state. The whole region was full of natural resources and its clean environment attracts everyone, he added. He said that most of the people live in rural areas and were of spiritual and religious nature. He said that the high traditions, culture and customs of the people of the state gave a distinct identity from others in the country. He hoped that each member of the team would enjoy a pleasant visit to Himachal and learn many important things.
Dattatraya said that learning was very important in life besides that humanitarian aspects are more important during learning and in life in their field of work. He said that such study tours were helpful in further strengthening the bonds of relationship between different States.
Later, the Governor felicitated every member of the delegation on the occasion.
Earlier, Air Vice Marshal AVM B.V. Upadhyay welcomed the Governor on behalf of the team and introduced every member. He also briefed about the objectives of the course and about the NDC.
Additional Director, HP Institute of Public Administration Jyoti Rana was also present among others on the occasion.
