- Chandigarh, April 29- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal reviewed the arrangements and work done in Ambala District by the District Administration in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases.
- In the meeting, the Chief Minister was apprised about the availabiliy of medicines, General Beds, Oxygen Beds, Ventilator Beds in hospitals, Corona Positive Rate, Home Isolation, Vaccination, Oximeter, Digital Thermometer, Micro and Macro Containment Zone, Remdesivir etc. for Covid-19 patients. Earlier, the Chief Minister also inspected the Trauma Centre and Oxygen Generation Plant etc in the district.
- He said that the real time data with regard to arrangements of General Beds, Oxygen Beds, Ventilator in Hospitals should be updated daily so that people are aware of the actual condition of bed and ventilator etc in the hospitals.
- The Chief Minister directed the officers that whatever arrangements have been made for COVID-19 should not be suppressed and every possible effort should be made to save the lives of critical COVID patients. Those who need oxygen should get oxygen on time and patients who need ventilators should be provided with ventilators. Medical kits, etc., should be given to the patients living in home isolation on time and the team of doctors and health workers should go to the patient’s home and take care of their health. If the home isolated patient needs to be admitted to the hospital, then he should be referred on time. All the arrangements should be made in the micro and macro containment zones as well and the concerned officers should regularly visit there and take stock of the arrangements.
- He also directed that there should be no black marketing of oximeter, digital thermometer, oxygen cylinder, medicines, food items etc., mustard oil etc. and people should get it at a reasonable prices, and the District Administration should take special care of this.
- Giving necessary guidelines to IG, Sh. Y Purna Kumar and SSP, Sh. Hamid Akhtar, he said that imposition of night curfew, Section-144 should be followed and adherence of all the Covid-19 guidelines should be ensured.
- At the meeting, Ambala Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Ashok Kumar Sharma and Civil Surgeon, Dr. Kuldeep Singh informed the Chief Minister that presently there are 750 Oxygen Beds in Ambala district and 7 Macro Containment Zones and 104 Micro Containment Zones have been created. For home isolation patients, District Ambala has also launched an app called Geo Tag, through this app, the doctor and the health department team visits the patient’s home and records his health related information. Apart from this, there are 11 hospitals in the district for treatment of Covid patients, out of which 5 are government and 6 are private hospitals.
- The Chief Minister was apprised that whenever the demand for Remedesvir Injection comes from a private hospital, it is decided by the Board of three doctors constituted by the Health Department whether the hospital really needs this injection. Only then are the injections supplied. Remdesivir injections are not made available individually and the private hospital is provided with the Remdesivir injection only after the approval of the Board of Doctors. There is no shortage of medicines and all necessary arrangements have been made. Control rooms have been set up by the District Administration. The patients in Home Isolation are contacted through the Control Room to enquire about their well-being.
- The meeting was attended by MLA Sh. Aseem Goyal, Ambala Divisional Commissioner Smt. Dipti Uma Shankar, IG Sh. Y Purna Kumar, SSP Sh. Hamid Akhtar, Ambala City SDM Sh. Sachin Gupta, Civil Surgeon Dr. Kuldeep Singh and other officers were also present.

- Talking to the mediapersons after reviewing the Covid-19 arrangements in district Ambala, the Chief Minister said that all necessary steps are being taken by the government to contain the spread of the second wave of Covid-19 and save people’s lives.
- There are sufficient number of beds for Covid patients, including Oxygen Beds, General Beds, Ventilator Beds. Arrangements have been made to shift Covid patients to MM Hospital, Mullana, if required. A letter has also been issued to ban treatment of Covid patients without approval in small private hospitals.
- In response to a question about Remdesivir injection, the Chief Minister said that there is no shortage of Remedesivir injection, Oxygen and other medicines. Special care is being taken to provide oxygen to the patient in a systematic manner as per the requirement and the supply should be fine.

- At the meeting, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Ashok Kumar Sharma and Civil Surgeon, Dr. Kuldeep Singh told the Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal that there are 960 beds and 119 ICUs in the district, Oxygen Generation Plant has been set up in the Civil Hospital, Ambala city so that 100 Oxygen cylinders will be filled every day and this will save one ton of oxygen. In this hospital, oxygen will be supplied to the patient’s bed through pipelines.

- Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal, during the inspection of the Civil Hospital, Ambala, also enquired about the well-being of the people especially elderly women sitting for treatment and directed the officers that no patient should have any problem with regard to the treatment and it was the responsibility of the administration to provide medicines and treatment on time.
