Preference to beneficiaries who have booked their appointment online
A spokesperson of the Health Department said here today that as per the directions of Government of India, preference would be given to the beneficiaries who have booked their slots online.
He said that self registration and online appointments by the beneficiaries would be helpful in minimizing the vaccine wastage. He further said that the Covid vaccination centers are providing both online and onsite slots to the beneficiaries of age group 45 years or above, Health Care Workers or Front Line Workers. The directions have been given to the field staff to ensure that beneficiaries who have taken online appointment through Cowin should be given preference for availing vaccination over the walk-in clients. It has also been directed that vaccination sites should have adequate sitting arrangements in the waiting area with appropriate social distancing so that elderly citizens do not have to stand in queues at the vaccination centers.
He said that the people of age group of above 45 years who are unable to book their sessions because of unavailability of network and appropriate devices like smart phones or do not have knowledge of internet may come directly to the vaccination centers for onsite registration. He urged the public to book their online appointments for vaccination through Cowin portal.
He said that the onsite registration slots for the vaccination of 18-44 years would be available only in the Tribal and Hard areas.
