Following tradition, the 2024 Honda Hornet 1000, like its smaller twin, will not be available in North America for the foreseeable future. Having said that, the Hornet’s inline-four CBR-derived 999cc engine should deliver performance like no other.
The Hornet 1000 has a more sophisticated and angular appearance than the Hornet 750, and it manages to adopt a lightweight streetfighter-esque posture. According to Honda, the 2023 CB750 was the best-selling naked bike in Europe through August. I suppose that’s why they continue to receive all of the nice stuff. Both this 1000 model and a 500 will be available in Europe, making the Hornet family a total of two new members. According to Honda Japan, the CB1000’s ‘transformative appearance’ were inspired by two words: aggressive and pure.
“Led by the piercing gaze of super-compact dual LED projector headlights, the Hornet-signature fuel tank is broad shouldered up front but taper radically to the rear, mirrored by the minimal seat unit that emphasizes the traditional narrow-waisted Hornet look.” “The new frame is also used as a design feature, but it is subtly blacked out, similar to the tubular trellis-style rear subframe,” Honda claims.
The Hornet 1000 will be available in Grand Prix Red, Matte Iridium Gray Metallic, and Pearl Glare White for the 2024 model year. Europe, have fun!
The CB1000 Hornet is built on the formidable Fireblade and shares the same frame as the supersport. It also has a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine with a different tune. Regardless, the engine produces a respectable 150bhp. Showa forks in the front and a Pro-Link shock at the back handle the hardware, both with pre-load and rebound adjustment.
