This special day is known as Ambedkar Jayanti in India and is a national holiday. He wanted an India, where women and men were treated equally. He believed that everyone should be treated in the same way by law. When he found out that this was not true, he tried to change laws, making them fair for all the citizens who lived in India at that time. He proved to be a leading figure who fought for the freedom of India from Great Britain’s control and formed Indian National Congress which became a leading force in the struggle for independence from British rule. This figure is Gandhi.
This Ambedkar Jayanti, the government must make it a point to end any blatant caste based discrimination and make sure that everyone irrespective of their caste gets equal access to opportunities and resources.

As a Dalit leader, he was one of the first to argue for social equality as well as political representation to end inequality and open up opportunities. On his Jayanti we wish everyone who dreams of establishing a fairer society with equal opportunities for all, the best in their endeavours! Here is wishing you all a very Happy Ambedkar Jayanti.
