School Education Minister Punjab Harjot Singh Bains has ordered all the Deputy Commissioners of the State to take immediate strict action against schools who were violating the orders of the Punjab government regarding extension of winter holiday due to inclement weather conditions in the state.
Mr. Bains said that to ensure health and safety of students and teachers due to extreme cold wave and fog , Punjab government had extended holidays in all Government and private schools of the state till January 8, 2023.
He said that his office has already received complaints against some private schools which were still opened despite Government’s directive.
Education Minister while referring to a private school in Ropar district said that a show cause notice has been issued to the concerned private school in this regard.
Mr. Bains said that no one will be allowed to overrule state government orders and the private schools will lose their affiliation if found defying Government orders.
