Ducati Superquadro Mono Engine

All About Ducati Superquadro Mono Engine

Ducati is ready to showcase its next invention, the Ducati Superquadro Mono Engine, a pioneering single-cylinder engine that will be the first of its kind in 30 years. Ducati claims that the Superquadro Mono is the most powerful single-cylinder engine in the world. According to HT Auto, this highly awaited engine will make its official debut on November 2nd, accompanied a brand-new motorcycle.

According to previous spy pictures, the upcoming motorbike looks to take design cues from the Hypermotard. Ducati has stated their intention to show a motorbike that encompasses fundamental attributes such as being lightweight as well as nimble, a real “fun-bike” blended with racing tradition. At this point, concrete information regarding the motorbike is limited.

Some Detailing Aspects of  Ducati Superquadro Mono

Ducati has revealed some details about the new Ducati Superquadro Mono Engine. This 659 cc engine is based on the 1285 cc Superquadro engine noticed on the Panigale 1299. Notably, the Superquadro Mono contains some critical components from the Panigale engine, including as the 116 mm diameter piston, combustion chamber geometry, 46.8 mm diameter titanium intake valves, as well as 38.2 mm steel exhaust valves. The engine’s parameters include a stroke of 62.4 mm and a diameter of 116 mm.

When coupled with the Termignoni exhaust system, the Ducati Superquadro Mono Engine produces 76.43 horsepower at 9,750 rpm, which may be increased to 83.34 bhp at 9,500 rpm. It has a torque output of 62.76 Nm @ 8,000 rpm, with a redline set at 10,250 rpm. Notably, the engine complies with Euro 5 regulations.

Ducati offers a detuned version of this engine for A2 license holders. The engine’s recommended oil change period is 15,000 km, while valve clearance adjustments are planned every 30,000 km.

The Ducati will use ride-by-wire technology with three power modes: High, Medium, as well as Low. The motorbike sports a 6-speed gearbox, and Ducati fine-tuned the gear ratios utilizing knowledge learned from the Panigale V4. Notably, the first gear is lengthened to allow for usage in slower corners while fully using the available power. Additionally, the gearbox may be combined with Ducati’s Quick Shift (DQS) for smooth up as well as downshifts.
