Governor unfurls National Flag on 76th Independence Day at Raj Bhavan
Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar unfurled the National Flag at Raj Bhavan on the occasion of 76th Independence Day. On the occasion, the Governor distributed sweets to the Raj Bhavan workers and school children and wished them a happy Independence Day. A cultural program based on patriotism was also organized on the occasion at Raj Bhavan.
This was the first time that special children were invited to perform at the Raj fancy dress, Bhavan on the occasion of Independence Day. These children enthralled the audience with their scintillating performances on themes like Insaaf Ki Dagar, dance and Har Ghar Tiranga. These children were special children of Aarushi School of Hope being run under Orchid Prep School, New Shimla. The student of Government Excellence Senior Secondary School, Chhota Shimla also gets a lot of applause by the group song and the solo dance of Kumari Bhamini Bansal.
Every eye in the Durbar Hall became moist when the artists of the Information and Public Relations Department sang the song Ae Mere Watan. Even the Governor could not stop his emotions and his eyes also became moist.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor extended Independence Day greetings to the people of Himachal Pradesh and fellow citizens of India. He remembered the unsung heroes of the freedom movement and saluted the martyrs and braveheart soldiers.
He said that in the next 25 years, we have to contribute in some way or the other and contribute to the development of the country by adopting Swadeshi.
