Chandigarh, Aug 22 – Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal called upon the traders to take maximum benefit of the welfare schemes being run by the state government for them. He said that with a view to protect the interests of the traders, the Mukhyamantri Vyapari Samuhik Niji Durghatna Beema Yojana and Mukhyamantri Vyapari Kshatipurti Bima Yojana were being run by the government. Under these schemes, traders are provided insurance in case of accidental death or disability and damage to their property.

The Chief Secretary was presiding over the first meeting of the Managing Committee of Haryana Family Safety Trust here today. As many as 9 agendas were discussed in detail in the meeting.

Sh. Kaushal said that as per the announcements of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, Haryana Parivar Suraksha Trust has been established to implement the above schemes in a systematic manner.

The main objective of this trust is to bring the insurance schemes run by various departments under one roof and ensure their proper implementation.

He directed the officers that maximum publicity should be given to Mukhyamantri Vyapari Samuhik Niji Durghatna Beema Yojana and Mukhyamantri Vyapari Kshatipurti Bima Yojana so that traders can become aware of these schemes and take complete benefit of them.

He informed that Mukhyamantri Karamchari Durghatna Beema Yojana is being implemented by the trust. Under this, an assistance of Rs. 5 lakh is provided to the sanitation workers (regular and contractual employees) working in urban and rural areas in case of death due to accident. Similarly, Group C and D category employees, who work at high risk, are provided assistance of Rs. 10 lakh in case of death due to accident. These include firemen, sewermen, linemen and assistant linemen.

He said that a portal has been developed by Haryana Traders Welfare Board, on which traders should ensure to get themselves registered. The formal inauguration of this portal will be done soon.

Apart from this, the Trust is implementing the Mukhyamantri Karamchari Durghatna Beema Yojana through Haryana Traders Welfare Board. Under this scheme, small traders are provided insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh in case of death due to accident, permanent disability or loss of bodily limb. For this, traders will have to pay premium at the rate of Rs 10 per lakh.

Similarly, the Mukhyamantri Vyapari Kshatipurti Bima Yojana will be implemented by the Trust, under which financial assistance will be provided to the trader in case of theft and loss due to fire etc.

The Chief Secretary said that the objective of these schemes is not only to provide insurance cover to the traders of the state, but also to promote their business. Many traders do not expand trade for fear of an accident. Accident insurance plan will boost their confidence and they can grow their business.

He said that the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal in his Budget 2022-23 speech had announced to provide insurance assistance of up to Rs. 3 lakh to the families of Anganwadi workers and helpers in case of death. This will also be implemented by Haryana Pariwar Suraksha Nyas.
