Haryana performs excellent work of imparting vocational education to the students – Haryana Education Minister
Education Minister expresses gratitude to HCL company for providing campus placement to XII pass students in the field of IT under Tech-B programme
Chandigarh, August 23 – Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal said that Haryana is performing excellent work of imparting vocational education to the students of the state. Under the new National Education Policy-2020, a plan is being prepared to start vocational courses from Class VI. At present vocational courses are being run from Class IX onwards.
The Education Minister was addressing the Tech-B placement programme organized by Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad and Samagra Shiksha in association with HCL Technology in Panchkula today.
Inauguration of 50 Incubation Centres
On this occasion, Sh. Kanwar Pal inaugurated 50 Incubation Centres (Daksh Kendras) in the State Senior Secondary Schools. The state government has spent more than Rs 18 crore on this project. In these centres, advanced vocational education will be provided to students. Considering the success of these centres, more such centers will be set up across the state. At present about 2 lakh students are taking vocational education in government schools in the state.
In these centres, students will be able to get vocational training in the field of Automobiles, Green House Methods of Agriculture, Organic Fertilizers, Beauty and Wellness Centres, Health Care, IT, Retail, Tourism and Hospitality, Private Security, PR and Entertainment. The Education Minister also interacted with the students of incubation centres based in Panchkula and Yamunanagar.
He said that this year 5715 students have appeared in the Tech-B programme organized by HCL, out of which 1254 passed the examination and 456 got selected and 263 have expressed their willingness to work with HCL company.
Distributed certificates to 263 students who received training in HCL company
Expressing gratitude to the officials of HCL company, Sh. Kanwar Pal said that they have taken the initiative to provide opportunities to the youth and made their career in the field of IT after class XII. He said that during 6-month internship, scholarship of Rs 10,000 is provided to the selected children under this programme. A job offer letter from the company is also given after the intership period. On this occasion, certificates were also distributed to 263 children, recieved training from HCL Company.
Additional Chief Secretary, Education Department, Sh. Mahavir Singh said that students of government schools are talented but cannot pursue higher education due to lack of resources. He said that HCL company has given offer letter to these students and provided them an opportunity to get employment.
On this occasion, Director of School Education Department,Sh. Anshaj Singh and Additional Director, Sh. Vivek Kalia and other officers were present.
