Haryana Higher Education Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma said that with a view to increase the placement of students studying in universities and colleges of the state, the heads of higher education institutions should sign Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with more and more industries.
Sh. Mool Chand Sharma said this while presiding over the review meeting with the officers of Higher Education Department here today. He said that colleges should be opened in densely populated areas according to the number of students. The government’s scheme of college within the radius of 20 kilometres should not be applicable in such areas.
The Higher Education Minister said that there would be no laxity in the matter of promotion of teachers. “The recruitment process will be expedited and the shortage of teachers will be met. Along with this, the construction work of higher education institutions will also be expedited,” he asserted.
It was apprised in the meeting that a placement cell has been set up in every college in which the students are being told about career opportunities through extension lecturers. Job fairs were also organized in government colleges of Panchkula, Hisar, Rohtak and Gurugram in which students from across the state participated.
Apart from this, training programmes are also being organized by the industries and students are being offered employment after training. Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, Sh. Vijayendra Kumar, Director, Sh. Rajeev Rattan, Joint Director (Administration) Sh. Deepak Kumar and other officers of the department were present in the meeting.
