Haryana Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij Delivered His Address On The First Day Of The Two-Day Chintan Shivir
Chandigarh, October 27- Haryana Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij delivered his address on the first day of the two-day Chintan Shivir. He welcomed the Union Home Minister, Sh. Amit Shah, Governors of various states, Chief Ministers, Home Ministers and other delegates on their arrival in Haryana. He said that along with controlling crime, we should all work towards developing a Grievance Redressal Mechanism. Taking initiative in this direction, the Police SPs in all the districts of the state have been directed to hear public grievances for at least one hour every day. He also informed that he himself hears the grievances of the people once a week.
He said that the Haryana Narcotics Control Bureau has been constituted to monitor the increasing drug abuse and to take stern action against drug smugglers. He added that people are also being made aware through various awareness campaigns regarding the ill-effects of drugs and its prevention. For this, committees have also been constituted at sub-division, ward and village level. Giving information regarding the Dial 112, he said that the police assistance is now easily accessible on call. For this, a dedicated control room was set up for Dial 112 along with 600 Emergency Response Vehicles was also inducted for its smooth operation. He added that the control room is receiving 50 to 55 thousand calls every month.
Giving information about the work done for police reform, he said that 30 awards have been started to encourage the policemen for rendering outstanding service. This experiment has proved to be effective in boosting the morale of the policemen and to enhance people’s faith in the law and order.
