First phase poll preparations for Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti members completed in 9 districts, Dhanpat Singh
Voting will be held on October 30 for 1278 Panchayat Samiti and 175 Zilla Parishad members in 61 blocks of 9 districts

Chandigarh, October 29 – Haryana State Election Commissioner, Sh. Dhanpat Singh said that all the preparations have been completed for conducting a free, transparent and fair poll of Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti members scheduled to be held in the first phase in 9 districts.
In 61 blocks of 9 districts Bhiwani, Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Mahendragarh, Nuh, Panchkula, Panipat and Yamunanagar, polling will be held on October 30 for 1278 Panchayat Samiti members and 175 Zilla Parishad members, he shared.
The State Election Commissioner further said that in the nine districts where the first phase of polling is scheduled to be held, all the preparations related to security and all other facilities have been completed.
Necessary guidelines have been issued to all the supervisors. An additional police force has been deployed in sensitive and hyper-sensitive polling booths, shared Sh. Dhanpat Singh.
He further said that in view of the inconvenience caused to the voters, adequate arrangements have been made for drinking water, uninterrupted electricity and wheelchair so that Persons with Disabilities and the elderly can easily cast their votes.
Sh. Dhanpat Singh said that the EVMs would be kept in a safe place after the voting ends. Tight police security arrangements will be in place at these places where EVMs are to be kept. After the elections of Panchayat Samiti members and Zilla Parishad members in all 22 districts are over, on November 27, after counting their votes, all the results will be declared together.

Sh. Dhanpat Singh said that this time all the activities related to Panchayat elections can be seen on the ‘Mhari Panchayat’ portal developed by NIC. In this, the nominations of the candidates, the final lists of the contesting candidates will be uploaded. Besides this, an e-dashboard has been prepared for the day of polling and counting so that anyone can see the poll trends, voting percentage and final results sitting at home, informed Sh. Dhanpat Singh.
49,67,092 voters to exercise voting right
Sh. Dhanpat Singh said that 49,67,092 voters in 9 districts will exercise voting right in the first phase of polling. 6019 polling booths have been set up in these 9 districts and voting will be held for 1278 Panchayat Samiti members and 175 Zilla Parishad members.
