ASSURES TO RESOLVE GENUINE ISSUES OF EMPLOYEES ON PRIORITY

 

ASKS OFFICERS TO PROCESS PROMOTIONS IN DEPARTMENT

 

Chandigarh, August 25:

Health and Medical Education and Research Minister Punjab Chetan Singh Jouramajra on Thursday held a marathon meeting with around 25 unions of health employees here at Punjab Bhawan to address their genuine demands.

Notably it’s the first time that Health Minister himself invited the various unions working in the department to Chandigarh to listen to their suggestions and grievances.

In this 5 hours long meeting, Chetan Singh Jouramajra provided plenty of time to representatives of unions so as to discuss the issues thoroughly.

As far as the demands were concerned, most of their demands were relating to regularization of employees, vacancies, shortage of staff, promotions, enhancing salaries and some other minor issues related to the department.

Representatives of the unions were so excited to see that Punjab government has invited them to listen and fulfill their genuine demands.

During the meeting the union leaders have appreciated the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Health Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra for this initiative and expressing concern for the welfare of employees.

In this meeting Jouramajra assured the representatives of unions that Aam Aadmi Party  government is already on the job to streamline Health Infrastructure in the state and without the cooperation and coordination of health staff it is not at all possible to serve the patients and well being of humanity.

He reiterated that the Punjab Government is committed to improve the state’s healthcare infrastructure and providing quality healthcare services to its citizens at their doorsteps.

Health Minister informed that state Government is going to introduce online system in Health Department, Medical Colleges and Universities  to offer various services to the general public. “Online system will help to maintain transparency and enhance the efficiency in department.” Minister said.

Taking a jibe on previous governments, Health Minister said due to ill performance of previous governments, the employees are suffering. He assured that AAP government would resolve the genuine issues of employees very soon.

He informed that recommendations regarding financial matters would be forwarded to finance department in the coming days,” He added.

He further said due promotions would be considered on priority besides policy of time bound promotions would be implemented in the department.

He instructed the senior officers to spend up the clearances of files thereby ensuring relief to the common people as well as employees.

Minister also advised to employees that they should work with dedication & honesty and must be polite with the patients as well as their attendees.

He also directed the senior officers to resolve the shortage of doctors, faculties and other paramedics in the state at the earliest.

Director Research and Medical Education and VC of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Dr Avinash Kumar assured Health Minister that the genuine demands of the health unions would be sorted out as soon as possible.

Among others present in the meeting included, Rahul Gupta, Additional Secretary, Medical Education and Research, Dr. Akashdeep Agarwal, Joint DRME,  Dr. Puneet Girdhar, Joint DRME. (Dental), Dr. Sanjeev Goyal, Registrar Guru Ravidas University, Hoshiarpur, Ms. Munreet Rana, Deputy Secretary, Medical Education and Research.
