27 Election Observers appointed for Panchayati Raj Institutions polls
Keep strict vigil on illegal weapons and distribution of cash and liquor
Chandigarh, October 26– In order to conduct Panchayati Raj Institutions elections in a fair and transparent manner in the state, Haryana State Election Commissioner, Sh. Dhanpat Singh directed the election observers to perform their duty with dedication and accountability. He further directed them to be present on their duty by 10 am before two days of elections.
The State Election Commissioner was presiding over a meeting with the General Supervisor, Expenditure Supervisor and Police Supervisor appointed for conducting the first phase of elections to Panchayati Raj Institutions today. Secretary State Election Commission, Dr Inderjeet was also present in the meeting.
The State Election Commissioner said that 27 Election Observers have been appointed in all the districts for the first phase of Panchayati Raj Institutions elections, including one general, one police and one expenditure election observer. He said that the Election Observers should reach the concerned district and inform the headquarters through email.
He said that the election observers should strictly follow the guidelines and instructions issued by the State Election Commission. They can contact the State Election Commission during any problem they face. Take immediate cognizance over the complaint that comes to the General Supervisor regarding conducting free and fair elections, he directed.
He said that in the first phase, election of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti in Bhiwani, Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Mahendragarh, Nuh, Panchkula, Panipat and Yamunanagar will be conducted on October 30 whereas elections of Panch and Sarpanch will be conducted on November 2. He said that if the re-polling is to be conducted in any district due to any reason, the concerned observers would be posted till the counting of votes.
He said that the election observers should keep a strict vigil on the distribution of cash, liquor, clothes and other items for alluring voters in the elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions. He directed to maintain complete law and order in the district. Apart from this, keep a vigil on illegal weapons.
He said that the election report should be sent in the prescribed proforma only and after the election is over, the results should be uploaded on the website of commission sec@hry.nic.in. He also apprised all the observers about the election work in detail.

Sulochana Gajraj, Expenditure Supervisor Vandana Choudhary for Nuh, General Supervisor Ashok Kumar Meena, Police Supervisor Hardeep Singh Doon, Expenditure Supervisor Sanjeev Rathi for Panchkula, General Supervisor Narhari Singh Bangad, Police Supervisor Kirat Pal Singh, Expenditure Supervisor Surat Singh Malik for Panipat and General Supervisor Ripudaman Singh Dhillon, Police Supervisor Rajendra Kumar and Expenditure Supervisor Sami R Yadav Yamunanagar have been appointed.
