Chandigarh, October 9 – In the ongoing 36th National Games, on Sunday Haryana won its maiden gold in Yogasana after the duo of Rahul and Rishabh from Gurugram showed their talent in this traditional sport. Besides this, another state lad Praveen Pathak also won a bronze medal in the Artistic Yogasana (Singles).
As rightly being called the sports capital of the country, the players of Haryana have continued their winning streak even in the ongoing 36th National Games. Till now, the State has already emerged as the champion in archery and netball games.
Haryana bagged gold, silver and bronze in Judo
The players of Haryana made a clean sweep in Judo as in the 73 kg weight category, the proud sons of the State Vishal, Jatin and Vikas Dalal bagged gold, silver and bronze respectively.
The girls’ team win the silver medal in golf
The State daughters proved their mettle as they bagged the silver medal in golf. In the team event, Haryana’s Vani Kapoor and Lavanya Jadoon added one more medal to the state’s medal tally by winning the silver medal. Meanwhile, Abhinav Lohan and Sunhit Bishnoi bagged the bronze medal in the boys’ individual event.
Girls Hockey team enters final
In the semi-final match of hockey held on Sunday, State daughters strengthened their claim on the gold by winning the finals. The semi-final match was played between Haryana and Jharkhand. In this thrilling match, Haryana beat Jharkhand by 5-2. The finals will be played on October 11.
Notably, so far, the Girls’ Hockey team has not lost any match. The team has registered consecutive victories in pool matches as well. It is expected that in the final match as well the team will continue its victory streak to bag gold for the State.
A total of 94 medals including 31 gold in the State’s tally
As of October 9, 6 pm, Haryana has won 94 medals including 31 gold, 29 silver and 34 bronze. So far the players of Haryana have won 1 silver and 1 bronze medal in aquatics, 5 gold medals in archery, 3 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals in athletics, 2 gold and 3 silver medals in cycling, 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medal in fencing, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze medals in Golf, 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 9 Bronze medals in Judo, 2 Bronze medals in Kabaddi, 2 Gold in Net Ball, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze in Rowing, 1 Gold in Rugby Medals, 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals in Shooting, 1 Bronze Medal in Soft Tennis, 1 Silver Medal in Table Tennis, 1 Bronze Medal in Tennis, 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals in Weightlifting, 12 Gold, 7 Silver and 4 Bronze medals in Wrestlingand, 1 Gold and 1 Bronze medal in Yogasana.
