iPhones Manufacturing Starts Locally in India

Recently, the Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted that the manufacturing of the iPhones will start locally in India. Moreover, the iPhone 11 is the first one that has been manufactured here since the marketing giant Cupertino started the assembly line for the iPhone XR in India. Apple saves about 20 percent tax on imports as earlier it had to pay the global facilities for the components. The mega suppliers of Apple manufacturing products like Foxconn, Pegatron, and Wistron have made huge investments in the Indian markets since the disruptions in the finance sector due to COVID 19 pandemic. The start of the iPhone 11 manufacturing in India, being the top line product has given a significant boost to the “Make in India” movement.

India is one of the largest consumer bases for Smartphone vendors has made it possible to get investments and resource supplies from global companies. Finally, India has caught Apple manufacturer’s attention and they have invested about 1 Billion dollars and have also set up their subsidiaries to expand the business in the country. iPhone SE was the first one to be manufactured in India in May 2017, at the Bengaluru facility of Wistron supplier, and later in 2019, the iPhone XR was manufactured. The company has decided to grow its business by manufacturing iPhone 11 and domestically producing iPhone SE (2020) at one of its supplier facilities as a marketing scheme, making them a lot affordable for the Indian consumer surplus.
