Jammu, Doda Encounter one militant killed and one soldier killed

One militant killed in encounter in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir

DODA:

One militant and an army jawan were killed during an encounter in Doda district today. The encounter took place in the village Posta of Gundna area of Doda district at around 8 in the morning today when security forces launched an operation against militants who were hiding in the village. The killed militants include a Pulwama based militant who were reportedly moving in the area since last few days. One army jawan was also killed during the encounter.

According to reports security forces camping in the area last night received information about the presence of militants. Following this information, a joint operation was launched. During night hours forces cordoned off the area. As security forces zeroed the house in which militants were hiding, militants opened fire on approaching army men and tried to break the cordon and escape. Security forces also returned the fire and both side-firing continued for over four hours resulting death of one militant and an Army jawan.
