Joint action committee will be formed to remove illegal encroachment – Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar

Local Government Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Mr. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and Minister of Power and Public Works Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO reviewed the various works being carried out in the Amritsar City in connection with G-20 Summit.

He directed the officials to complete all the works by the end of February and to take special attention of the quality of the works, Because these works are not only for G20 but should be of good quality so that these development works can benefit the people for a long time.

Dr. Nijjar instructed the officials to think new, work in a new way. Things should not be the same as before. He said that development work is being done to make the city beautiful in view of the G20 summit. It is our duty to keep the city clean. Regarding the traffic arrangement of the city, Dr. Nijjar said that a joint action committee will be formed of the members of District administration, police administration, Municipal Corporation and Urban improvement trust, which will remove illegal encroachments from the city and improve the traffic arrangement of the city.

He instructed the concerned officials in strict terms that wherever the grills of BRTS are broken, new ones should be installed immediately. Apart from this, no other vehicles should ply on BRTS route, only BRTS buses should ply. He said that Boom barriers should also be installed to control the traffic in BRTS.

In this meeting, Principal Secretary of Local Government Department Mr. Vivek Pratap Singh, Chairman District Planning Committee Mr. Jaspreet Singh,Deputy Commissioner Mr. Harpreet Singh Sudan, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Mr. Sandeep Rishi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Urban Development Mrs. Amandeep Kaur, Chief Administrator Pudda Mr. Razat Oberoi, SDM Baba Bakala Madam Alka Kalia, SP Amandeep Kaur and officials of various departments were present.
