Chandigarh, September 13:
The Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to provide the best education to the students of Punjab and work is being done on priority basis to improve the education infrastructure. Towards this end, a multipurpose hall will be constructed at Jawaharlal Nehru Government College, in village Tooran, Mandi Gobindgarh at a cost of Rs. 20 lakhs. Tenders have been invited for this.
The spokesperson of the Public Works Department of Punjab informed that this college was established in the year 2003 and is imparting quality education to thousands of students from the local area especially the villages.
According to the spokesperson, the multipurpose hall to be constructed will help the students to organize various activities and extra-curricular programs like festivals, seminars, workshops, training etc.
The size of this multipurpose hall will be 60 feet x 33 feet. This hall will be constructed under the RUSA (Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) scheme. Tenders have been invited for this work and the work is likely to be completed within 3 months after allotment.
