NIRF Rankings 2022: On July 15 at 11 a.m., Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is set to release the NIRF ranking 2022. Here is everything you need to know.
University, college, and other educational institution rankings are expected to be announced by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on July 14, 2022. The standings are expected to be revealed around 11 a.m. during the first half. After the rankings are announced, you can check them on the official website, nirfindia.org.
“On 15th July 2022, Hon’ble Education Minister, Shri @dpradhanbjp will release #IndiaRankings2022 under #NIRF, virtually. The annual exercise outlines a methodology to rank Higher Education Institutions (HEI’s) across India in various categories & subject domains. Stay tuned! (sic)”, the Education Ministry tweeted.
The National University Rankings for 11 categories will be released by the education minister. This includes institutions for research, law, and the general fields of university, management, college, pharmacy, medicine, engineering, and architecture. Notably, the quantity of institutions participating in the NIRF ranking has grown over time. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad came in first place for the management category out of 6,000 colleges that participated in the NIRF Ranking 2022 last year, followed by IIM Bangalore and IIM Kolkata. Jamia Hamdard has bagged the top spot in NIRF 2022 India Rankings ‘Pharmacy’ category.
IIM Ahmedabad has topped the NIRF India 2022 Ranking in the Management category.
IIT Madras has bagged the top position in the Engineering category.
IIM Ahmedabad came out on top in this year’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF Rankings 2022), which was published today, July 14.
In both the “Overall” and “Engineering” Categories, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) was named the greatest institute in the nation. For the fourth year running, the institute placed first overall, and for the seventh year running, it was first in the engineering category.
The best medical school in India is All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, followed by Postgraduate Institute of Medical Institute and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh and Christian Medical College in third place.
The Hindu College and Presidency College, both in Bengaluru, came in second and third place, respectively, in a rating of the best colleges.
The broad categories adopted to rank institutes, as per NIRF website, are Teaching, Learning and Resources; Research and Professional Practice; Graduation Outcomes; Outreach and Inclusivity and Peer Perception. The weighted average for each of the categories however differs with categories.
