On the occasion of Republic Day, the Chief Minister unfurled the National Flag at Tejli Stadium in Jagadhari in Yamunanagar district and extended greetings for Basant Panchami.
On this occasion, Sh. Manohar Lal also announced to give an amount of Rs 90 crore to the people of the district for the development of Tejli Stadium. This stadium would be developed in three phases. Spread over 50 acres, this stadium will have all the facilities for indoor and outdoor games, he added.
He said that in the first phase infrastructure and facilities would be provided for indoor sports like Judo, Kabaddi, Taekwondo, Wrestling, Boxing, Lawn Tennis, Archery, Rifle Shooting etc. In the next phase, facilities for
outdoor games will be developed which includes hockey, football, athletics, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, handball, badminton etc. This work will be done by the Sports Department and will be done in about 3 years, informed Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister informed the students that on January 27, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi will interact with the students during ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’. This programme will be broadcasted in all schools at 11 am.
