Doda district has increased the sample collection facilities to 1000 samples per day and these samples are being taken at five collections centers at Doda, Assar, Bhaderwah, Thathri and Gandoh.
Earlier, samples were being taken only in District Hospital Doda and only a couple of hundred samples were being taken in the hospital daily. The potential to collect samples has been substantially increased to a thousand a day now.
Since the government has allowed entry of stranded labourers from outside J&K, Doda district has received over 3100 such people and samples of over 3000 people have been taken by the administration.
“So far over 1200 reports have been received and all are negative. We have done 100 percent sampling and over 100 labourers, who are yet to be tested, reached in the district the day when samples of others were taken. They will also be tested as per protocol,” said Sagar D. Doifode, deputy commissioner Doda.
