Punjab CM helped by his grandson to keep the citizens updated for Covid-19

Due to the lockdown in the country, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s social media team has been overseen by his grandson Nirvan Singh, who has stepped up updates on the former’s verified accounts with the online campaigns and the engagement with the people to gather feedback about the crisis.

Last week Minister’s account across social media, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, had launched a series of campaigns. It ha began with #VaisakhiAtHome that Amarinder was making an appeal to everyone to celebrate Vaisakhi at home and perform an #ArdasAt11 for “sarbat da bhala” on April 13 by following curfew in the state.

Nirvan Singh said, “Captain Saab is overseeing every aspect of the state’s battle against Covid-19. It is important that social media matches his pace to deliver his message and decisions to the people of Punjab. He himself keeps track of what goes online and we have pitched in to ensure timely updates.”

He also said that apart from the campaigns the main focus is to give timely information and address the issues raised by the people online, including the migrant workers, keeping the morale of the Frontline Warriorshigh along with that special focus on the procurement for the wheat. 

There were over 13 million views of the Vaisakhi campaign on April 12 and 13. Some of the celebrities of Punjab also had joined the campaign. In this week Minister’s social media platforms have also announced the use of new-age chatbot tools for both FB and WhatsApp where people can seek answers to a lot of generic queries at a click of a button. Amrinder himself led this campaign which started with him by addressing and appealing to the people of Punjab, followed by the song that had been released on Ardas for Sarbat da Bhala and finally Captain posted a video of him doing Ardas at 11 am.
