State demands more relaxation in lockdown 4.0
The state government want few more relaxation in lockdown restrictions to boost up the economic activities in the non-containment zones. Although the centre mulls easing out some strict curbs in the fourth phase of the lockdown from 18 May. The government of some states are in favour of the extending lockdown until the end of this month, as the lockdown helped to fight the pandemic.
Although few states have extended the lockdown in their states already like Mizoram. While the states like Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu are asking to extended the lockdown in their states. Bihar urges to continue the unprecedented measure till the month-end, keeping rail and air traffic besides the Shramik Special. Although, Maharashtra wants to extend lockdown with strict restrictions and rules. In the rest of the states, the announcement will be done on May 17.
The official in the ministry of home affairs (MHA) said, “No state wants to complete withdrawal of the lockdown but all want gradual resumption of economic activities”. Although few states and union territories (UT) also want the power to decide on the zoning of 733 districts into gree, orange and red as per the situation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that lockdown 4.0 will be completely different.
It has also been suggested that intra-district bus services should start the Intra-district bus service with a limited number of passengers and strict health protocols, and social distancing. The hospitality sector should also start along with the strict rules. The construction works in several states has also been started.
There are 85,940 covid-19 cases in India and around 2752 people have lost their lives.
