Students Contribution to Society: Students are always striving for achieving their goals and accomplishing more than one thing in life. They aspire to do substantial things in general, things like empowering others and imparting their knowledge to society. They always try to do things for themselves, their friends and family but what really matters is doing something profitable for society in a bigger aspect.  Maybe even for the nation, like learning at young age and teaching the other keen learners to spread awareness about important causes in society.

Everyone aspires to achieve something big in life, something in a larger picture and working for a bigger cause. It is said that age is just a number, the desire to contribute towards society is what really matters the most. Therefore, students should take the initiative by making a decision to do their bit every day and cause changes to things that happen around them.

Here are some important tips for students to contribute towards society and its development:

1. Promoting a Healthy environment

As a student, one must encourage others to live in a healthy environment. A healthy environment will help people to function faster and do better in life. Living a healthy life makes people feel good and encourages them to contribute to the development of the environment. Pollution, hygiene, and civic problems are some disruptions in the society for which the students should work to improve the prevailing condition

It is important for students to establish responsible habits at an early phase of life, they have a crucial role in saving the environment. They should enlighten people about sustainable development and plead to conserve natural resources for future generations.  Students should plant more trees to prevent global warming and ask others for going paperless, by switching to e-books and e-mails thus preventing trees from being cut down.

2. Initiating a Social Work drive to Contribute to Society

Students can organize cleaning drives, book-drives, community service for old people and tree plantation events in nearby localities, thus taking small steps to achieve the bigger aim. They can also volunteer for such drives like old age homes, orphanages and rehab centers where their assistance is needed. People should not always be dependent on nature and deplete the conserves for their self -interesting purposes. The preachings of social drives should include the following to encourage students contribution to society:

• Reducing Vehicular Emissions:Vehicular emissions are caused due to burning of fossil fuels, leading to contamination of toxic gases in the air. Adopting alternative methods like cycling, walking, using public transport rather than driving motor vehicles will help to reduce pollution in the environment.

• Re-use and Recycle methods:

  The immense growth in the population has led to a generation of enormous waste. Thus re-using and recycling are the best possible adaptable methods to go green. Avoid plastic usage, and buying detergents having chemicals in them which cause adverse effects on aquatic life. Opt for choosing eco-friendly products.

• Saving Water and Electricity:These resources are daily life needs and we can hardly imagine our lives without them, turning off the lights and closing the running water taps in our homes will minimize the dependency on these resources and will save it for the future generations to use. Using energy-efficient devices will save much of the energy consumption.
• Avoiding Wastage of Food:There are several people in the world who suffer plague and starvation. If people remain to be careful about wasting food it will help in cutting the monetary and environmental costs.

• Process waste into Manure:

  Students can take help from adults in making a compost system at their homes. It will convert all the garbage into nutrient-rich fertilizer beneficial for the soil. Therefore, minimizing garbage at school and in the neighborhood will promote a clean environment.

3. Showing Awareness

Students should show responsibility towards the people and society they live in, by knowing what is happening around them. Students’ contribution to society does not always infer to act. Being updated about important things can turn students into responsible citizens. When students will show presence-of-mind, and start enacting their basic knowledge. It leads them to help others by coming out of their comfort zones, they will truly benefit society. This will provide them a better sense of understanding of real-life problems.  Also, in terms of behavioral aspects, it will lead to the development of their personalities.

There are several things students can contribute to society. These include usual traffic jams, pollution, improper sanitation of roads and colonies, and depleting natural resources. Students should spread awareness about these critical issues at large and discuss things that are bothersome amongst their peers. There are many people who only complain, rather than working for it. Students should change this ideology and strive to work for the betterment of society.
