2. Anita Dongre

The wives and moms in Anita Dongre’s household all acted out conventional roles. They didn’t all have employment or establish their businesses. Anita’s mother, Pushpa Sawlani, used to sew garments for her and her brothers, which sparked her interest in textiles and fashion as a young girl.

She began to notice women who worked in corporate positions or who were business owners when she was growing up in Mumbai. The food cart, which is situated in Mohali, sells a variety of mouthwatering handmade delicacies, including Rajma Chawal, Kadhi Chawal, chana, and bhindi. It seeks to make ma ke haath ka khana accessible and inexpensive for those who live elsewhere.

Arora left her position as HR manager at a large corporation and invested about Rs 1 lakh to launch her own company. She purchased the food cart, painted and decorated it herself, and then began selling handmade meals to other professionals while working a corporate job with the assistance of her assistant and workers. Every one of the 70 platters they create each day is consumed. Both the cuisine supplied by the cart and Arora’s creative start-up are adored by businesspeople.

Advenio has created software that can quickly and accurately analyze a large number of medical photos using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning. Tech entrepreneur Acharayya holds a post-doctoral degree in medical imaging in addition to a Ph.D. in computer science. She hopes to democratize healthcare through Advenio by using clinical imaging to quickly, affordably, and accurately diagnose serious medical disorders. To represent India in the DLD Tel Aviv Innovation Festival in Israel, Acharayya’s startup was chosen.

6. Komal Sharma Talwar

She is from Chandigarh and has shown her worth to rank in the list of top 10 women entrepreneurs in Chandigarh. Both TT Consultants and XLPATS were founded by Komal Talwar. Through her business endeavours, Talwar hopes to make it easier for researchers to look for and analyse patent applications. It helps patent researchers stay current on the newest technology and determine whether their invention does not violate any other intellectual property rights. Talwar’s business, which was founded in 2012, extracts and analyses the patent data using artificial intelligence, cognitive computing, machine learning, and other data technologies.

In 2006, XLPAT Labs, a division of TT Consultant, began operations in a basement. Talwar started TT Consultants for Patents with a $73,000 initial investment and a female helper.

Komal Talwar has frequently received praise for her creative business ideas. One of the two Chandigarh-based female business owners that represented India at the DLD Tel Aviv Innovation Festival in Israel was she. Soni founded D-Licious in 2012 after earning her MBA from Punjab University. D-licious is a one-stop shop for cakes that are wholesome, delectable, and aesthetically pleasing. For a year, Soni tried her hand at creating chocolates, but she eventually switched to baking cakes since, as Soni claims, chocolates are a seasonal treat.

Soni offers cakes, cupcakes, and other treats to the throngs of consumers that visit D-Licious throughout the day. Her cakes are crafted using locally sourced, healthful ingredients. D-licious provides eggless, glutton-free wheat cakes, strawberry-dipped chocolate, oak cookies, and more for people who are watching their diet.

8. Gayatri Sood

At the age of 10, Monica’s Pudding & Pies’ chef Gayatri Sood began baking. Her mother, who managed a tiny bakery in Chandigarh, served as her inspiration. Sood traveled to Paris to pursue her love and graduated with a diploma from Le Cordon Bleu in 2012 as well as a management degree from the same institution in London. She subsequently joined the family company Monica’s Pudding & Pies and significantly improved it. Although her mother founded Monica’s Pudding & Pies in December 1994, Sood’s love of baking turned the shop into Chandigarh’s go-to spot for sweets. At Monica’s Sood, sweets created with organic ingredients such as brown sugar and wheat flour are offered without the use of chemicals or preservatives.

9. Atman Sandhu

Atman Sandhu, who was 26 years old, had always wanted to open her own business. She watched her mother meticulously arrange the house as a child, which gave the businesswoman a talent for interior design. It takes courage to start a firm, especially since when many companies are fighting to survive the COVID-19 epidemic. Atman, however, was forced to launch her green firm, Shibui India, which creates and sells handcrafted planters that are created by hand and hand-painted. This was made possible by her restriction to her house, plenty of free time, and the entrepreneurial bug.

The firm officially launched in January 2021 with the opening of shopshibui.com and its social media accounts. The company acquired 8,000 Instagram followers in less than six months in addition to a prestigious clientele that included stars like Soha Ali Khan, Maheep Kapoor, Diana Pandey, and Seema Khan. Shibui sells around 100 planters a month on average. It has sold a total of 700–800 planters—which start at Rs 2, 799—to date.

10. Pahull Bains

Together with her mother, Annu Bains, they developed Brooklyn Central, the first institution of its type in Chandigarh, using their artistic talents.
