Vaccine should be first introduced in the districts where animals suffer from lumpy skin disease – Union Animal Husbandry Minister
Union Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister, Sh. Purushottam Rupala holds meeting with officers of Animal Husbandry Department
Chandigarh, August 16- Union Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister, Sh. Purushottam Rupala said that vaccination should be first introduced in the districts where a large number of animals are suffering from lumpy skin disease so as to contain the further spread of this disease.
He further said that need of the hour is to isolate the animals suffering from this disease. Other animals can be kept safe by isolating the infected animals, he added.
Union Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister, Sh. Purushottam Rupala said this during a meeting with officers of Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department at Haryana Niwas today.
On this occasion, Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister, Sh. J.P. Dalal was also present.
The Union Minister said that as of now 8 districts of Haryana have remained untouched with this serious disease, where no case has been registered so far. Apart from this, infected animals of some districts should be given lumpy skin vaccination on priority basis as per the guidelines issued by the Central Government.
The Union Minister said that the Haryana Government has been making sincere efforts to tackle this disease. Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal and Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister, Sh. J. P. Dalal are reviewing the work of identifying the districts affected by the disease. He said that the Haryana Government is working with caution in coordination with the Central Government to prevent this disease. He hoped that with the introduction of vaccination, the disease will be contained which will also prevent its further spread to other districts
