Chandigarh Administration distributed Take Home Ration to 22,586 beneficiaries

Chandigarh.16 June,2020: The Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration, distributed Take Home Ration in the form of Nutritious Weaning Food and Besan  Panjiri, at the doorstep of approx. 22,586 beneficiaries i.e, Children between the age of 06 months to 06 years, Pregnant Women, Nursing Mothers and Adolescent Girls,today.

In addition to the Nutritious dry ration, eggs, bananas and milk were also distributed to the beneficiaries of 53 Anganwadi Centres i.e. Mouli village , Daria, Kishangarh,Sarangpur, Dhanas, KhudaLahora, Khuda Jassu, Khuda Ali Sher, Kaimwala, Behlana, Makhanmajra, Raipur Khurd and Raipur Kalan. Take Home Ration was also distributed to approximately 350 beneficiaries of the Slum Areas and Construction Sites at PGI, Dhanas, Sanjay Colony and Colony No-4. These are extremely vulnerable neighbourhoods, whose residents’ nutritional intake needs to be monitored constantly, and our team has ensured that these pockets are catered too with special attention.

This splendid work was done with the corporation and dedicated efforts of Frontline Workers i.e. Lady Supervisors, Anganwadi Workers, Anganwadi helpers. They have tirelessly worked throughout the pandemic COVID-19 to ensure good Maternal & Child healthcare in the under slum areas covered by our Anganwadi Centers. To ensure constant care and protection for the children in these areas of city, AWWs are spreading awareness among beneficiaries to take all precautionary measures against COVID 19.
