Farmers who grow vegetables in block Bhala of District Doda were facing lots of difficulties as they were not able to transport their products to the market due to lockdown. There was no suitable place in the area to sell the products. Today the farmers are happy as the district administration, in prompt action, build a “Rural Hut” (shed) with all other facilities at Pranu where local vegetable growers hailing from Panchayat Beau, Pranu, Sindra and Town of Doda district are taking their products to the hut and selling to shopkeepers and other customers.
The hut was constructed within a short period of time. An amount of 19 lakh has been spent on the construction under CD panchayat and MGNREGA schemes.
The hut was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Doda Dr. Sagar D Doifode in presence of various other officers today.
Vegetables and fruit growers of the area are Presently dependent fully on their products as other developmental activities are not going on in the area and farmers are working hard to grow vegetables and fruits and availability of a central place to sell their product has further brightened the chances of marketing. People also expressed happiness as the administration has made all facilities including toilets and resting places.
