Haryana Govt collaborates With ‘Reliance Jio TV’ to Educate 52 lakh school children

Chandigarh, June 23: In a bid to bring about qualitative improvement in the education of school students, Haryana has entered into an agreement with ‘Reliance Jio TV’ under Chief Minister ‘Distance Education Programme’ amid COVID-19.

Giving information about the same, Haryana Education Minister, Mr. Kanwar Pal said that under the agreement made with Reliance Jio TV all the four channels of Eduset will now be available on Jio’s platform free of cost. He informed that the main objective of the State Government is to impart education to every school student in the present situation of Covid-19. With this new initiative of the government, students will be able to watch all four channels of Eduset through TV, laptop, desktop, tablet, and mobile. Apart from this, the broadcast content on TV will be available on Geo-TV for a week so that the students can watch the same according to their convenience and time.

The Education Minister informed that this step of the State Government will benefit about 52 lakh Hindi and English medium students studying in government and private schools of the state under the Haryana School Education Board, CBSE Board, and other boards.

He informed that there are about 94 lakh subscribers of Jio in Haryana which makes it easy for most of the people of the state to access ‘Reliance Jio TV’.

He informed that separate educational material is relayed for the students of the State who are preparing for competitive examination of JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) and NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test).

Praising the Chief Minister’s ‘Distance Education Programme’ of the Haryana Government, the Education Minister said that even in the adverse conditions during Covid-19, the task of imparting necessary education to every student has been carried out. This ‘Distance Education Programme’ has been going on since April 15, 2020. The new agreement with the State Government’s Reliance Jio TV will benefit students from remote areas.
