Focus to be on making students aware of the destructive effects of drugs S.A.S. Nagar, June 25:
The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking would be observed throughout the district on the 26th of June with special emphasis on schools and colleges and other institutions of higher education. Disclosing this here today, the Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Girish Dayalan said that the focus would be on making the students aware of the destructive effects of drugs.
Divulging more, he said that though this year, owing to coronavirus pandemic, the mass rallies and programs would not be held. So, the focus would shift on to generate maximum awareness through various forms of media such as print, electronic and social media besides on the online platforms. He also urged the youth to record their messages, songs, make paintings showing harmful effects of drugs, and upload the same on various social media platforms so as to ensure that they reach maximum people.
The DC also gave a clarion call for a consistent campaign to be waged on the issue so as to ensure a healthy and prosperous society.
