June 16: A massive fire broke out here today in the slum areas of village Teur. Around 35-40 shanties were destroyed in the fire the cause of which could not be ascertained. Disclosing this, the SDM Kharar Mr. Himanshu Jain said that a child named Adiya and aged between 4-5 years sustained 100 percent burns and died. Besides, another woman also sustained injuries. The fire tenders, Civil and Police officials have reached the spot. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has announced Rs. 2 lakh as Ex Gratia for the family of the deceased apart from ordering the Civil Administration to assess the losses so as to provide relief to the victims.
