In an unprecedented incident in Patiala Four, Nihang Sikhs got in the shuffle with Patiala Police in the Vegetable market and in the shuffle, they chopped off the left hand of Assistant Sub-inspector and injured other cops including one SHO this Sunday morning.

The incident took place in the Patiala Vegetable market around 6:20 am today. When they were stipped by the Vegetable mandi board employees fro entering the market and they were not carrying any valid pass or permission.
The Nignags first indulge with the Mandi Board employees and trashed them and then when the police intervened to stop them they started trashing the policemen on duty and the scuffle broke out in the mandi.
As soon as the ASI Harjeet Singh tried to stop them on of the Nihangs took out his sword and chopped off the hand of ASI Harjeet Singh.
In the shuffle SHO Sadar Bilkar Singh ad ASI Raja Singh also sustained injuries.
After attaching the Police personals the Four Nigangs fled towards the Gurward Khichdi Sahab and the Police chased them.
Taking note of the incident SSP Patiala Mandeep Singh Sidhu with senior police officials reached the spot and took the report on the incident and later ordered to deploy more forces to nab the culprits.
In the meantime, all three Police Personals ASI Harjeet Singh, ASI Raj Singh, Inspector Bikkar Singh who were rushed to Rajindra Hospital have now been referred to PGI Chandigarh.
SSP Patiala Sidhu said that appropriate action under the various relevant sections of law shall be registered against the four Nihangs and we will put all the efforts to arrw=es t all the accused soon.
Also said that the Punjab Police Headquarters in Chandigarh are making all the efforts and have reached out to the Doctors of PGI to make sure the best of the treatment is given to the Injured Police personals.
He said soon action shall be taken against all the four Nihangs.
