“The Punjab Youth Development Board has always been in the forefront to work for the welfare of the youth of the State besides ensuring their wholehearted participation in building a strong and vibrant Punjab.” These views were expressed here today by Chairman, Punjab Youth Development Board Sukhwinder Singh Bindra.
He said that keeping in view the present situation owing to coronavirus, the board has rallied the youth of the State to organize a dedicated one-day awareness campaign on the 4th of July all across Punjab. Releasing the pamphlets and another publicity program for the occasion, he said that as part of this campaign, in Mohali, a cycle rally from Kharar to Chapparchiri would be organized, generating awareness on how to be safe from the coronavirus.
Apart from this, a webinar would also be held on the topic – ‘COVID-19, challenges and opportunities for youth’. Terming it as a matter of pride that for the first time, the Board has been given such a big responsibility, he divulged that the other plethora of activities would include 70 youth club volunteers going from door to door in the villages generating awareness which is the need of the hour. He also added that these activities would be carried out zone wise by dividing Mohali into 4 zones. Giving a clarion call to all to be part of this event, Mr. Bindra said that only by making people at the grassroots level aware that war against coronavirus can be won.
