Types of Intelligence – This was a belief for a long time that Intelligence is something that can be detected through testing, therefore IQ tests are determinant for comparing the brainpower in people and it ranks them in order of having higher proficiency, logical reasoning, and mental ability skills. There are several standardized test practices that are carried out in the world to test the IQ of the students and compare them on the basis of this result. Researchers have recently explored some new domains of intelligence recognized through several different tests, and have stated that Interpersonal relationships, Persistence, and Discipline are some additional factors that are related to intelligence in people.

Students can have different perspectives and opinions about the same thing, their thinking might not be parallel and can conflict on several subjects since they can be biased towards a specific type depending on the knowledge they perceive, but it is possible that they can develop different types of intelligence through consistent practice. Researchers have figured out that everyone possesses small parts of intelligence in them and by time through practice, one trait supersedes all the other traits. Here are some types of Intelligence listed below which can be developed through standardized testing:

7 Types of Intelligence are:

#1. Interpersonal Intelligence

Students who are sited with inborn leadership qualities possess interpersonal intelligence, as they are able to connect with people on a personal level very easily. These Students have the ability to manipulate the thinking of others and make them work for a greater cause, they are calm and composed since they possess a sense of responsibility towards others. Interpersonal Intelligence is related to the power of influence these Students have who are much more efficient in communication and can use their knowledge to draw others’ attention for working towards a specific goal.

#2. Kinaesthetic Intelligence

Kinaesthetic refers to the ease of performing complex bodily expressions with precision that determines the kind of person every student is in terms of carrying their respective bodies and expressing a great sense of depth, size, space, and distance by the proficient gestures they make to express and convince others. The mind controls the Kinaesthetic intelligence in people, and the cerebellum is associated with controlling the voluntary actions of the body. Students who have mastered the kinaesthetic intelligence control are majorly athletes who can perform high endurance activities along with good motor skills and perfect coordination.

#3. Linguistic Intelligence

Students who tend to express themselves easily through a great verbal and written communication have developed a greater sense of linguistic intelligence, they are aware of the conditions prevalent near them that can work best in their favor. They possess a greater ability to understand others perspective, also it is believed that the left side of the brain is associated with this trait, therefore people who have mastered the linguistic intelligence have great oratory skills.

#4. Intrapersonal Intelligence

Intrapersonal refers to the characteristics of students who are deeply connected to their inner self, they are usually more reserved but are admired by others for being goal-oriented. This trait is rare but students who inculcate different values throughout their life in developing Intrapersonal Intelligence tend to be more successful than others who forget to care about themselves and work for their own good as well.

#5. Logical Intelligence

Students who are sited with Logical Intelligence have immense talent and knowledge in solving complex problems with ease, they can quickly determine the solution to such problems by dividing it into smaller parts and reaching to the final answer by combining solutions to all the small parts. Students are able to solve math and logic problems with ease since they have developed efficient logical and mental reasoning skills. The right side of the brain controls logical intelligence in individuals; students who have logical intelligence are much more skilled in any given profession because they are organized and well disciplined.

#6. Spatial Intelligence

Spatial is referred to the ability to create modeled structures like 2D and 3D images, and have a better understanding of the built of any structure. Spatial intelligence in students enables them to observe things around them, so that they can imagine and create things that seem impossible to others. Students with heightened spatial intelligence are working in gaming, aerospace, and multimedia like industries because of having heightened intelligence in understanding the skills related to the subject.

#7. Musical Intelligence

Students who have proficient musical intelligence are able to listen to music and determine several different patterns of notes related to that sound. These students have an “absolute pitch” observance towards musical notes and can create harmonies and songs easily in their minds. Students who have higher musical intelligence are able to learn musical instruments easily from either learning just the theory or some music.

Students harbor different types of learning styles and thus focus on developing different intelligence that suits them the best.
