6 Tips for Healthy Hair

The one with curly hair wants straight hair, and the one with straight hair wants curly hair.

But most importantly everyone wants to have smooth, shiny and healthy hair.

Hair is the most important part of our personality because it can make or break your image instantly.

According to a study, more men invest in their hair than women. But irrespective of gender, everyone spends a lot of time, effort and money in maintaining their hair and making sure that they remain healthy and disease-free.

Also because of rising pollution it has become extremely important to take care of our hair properly. Taking a lot of stress can also damage hair or lead to hair loss.

Hair loss can be very depressing and can be very difficult experience for many people. It can have emotional mental and psychological repercussions such as humility, embarrassment, sense of insecurity etc.

Hair loss has become so common these days that even the teenagers are struggling from it.

Most hair grows by only an inch each month but that doesn’t mean you cannot speed up the process.

Here are simple hair growth tips for women and men that will let you know how to grow hair faster. Here are 6 tips that you should follow –

  • Take a balanced diet.

This is one of the most important things for having healthy hair and hair growth. Surely a good shampoo or conditioner is indispensable for hair care but that’s not enough and it is not a replacement of healthy food. Just like your skin your hair is also an outward sign of inside health. Have a proper diet that includes everything in a proper ratio, protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, minerals, iron, etc. Try food rich in antioxidants because they boost your metabolism and improves blood circulation that is good for a healthy hair scalp.

So having a proper diet is very important for healthy hair and prevention of hair loss.

  • Avoid taking stress.

Do you ever wake up and find hair on your pillow and ask yourself if this is all about the amount of stress and anxiety that you’re going through?

Well yes, you’re right!

Stress is the most common reason for hair loss in both men and women.

Hair loss can be at peak during injury, illness, relationship issues, financial issues, poor nutrition, surgery, etc. If you’re going through any such issues, then it’s obvious to face hair loss. All you can do at this point is to try to change your lifestyle. Take proper sleep and do something that calms you down, like listening to music, going out, etc. If all these things don’t improve the health of your hair, consult a doctor as soon as possible.

  • Never brush when your hair is wet.

You should never brush your hair just after you take shower. That’s when the pores are open and can lead to breakage. Let the hair dry and then brush. Also too much brushing can cause damage. Incorrect brushing and using the wrong brush can also cause damage to your hair and scalp. Brushing stimulates blood flow to your scalp and provides essential nutrients to hair follicles creating healthier stronger strands. However, brushing gently is equally important as brushing vigorously can rip hair. Brushing your hair from the scalp to the ends can cause small tangles to turn into huge knots.

  • Avoid excessive use of hair styling tools

It’s obvious that people who have curly hair want straight hair and those who have straight hair craves for curls. No one is happy with what they have. So using straightener and curler is common these days. But they have side effects too. Excessive use of styling tools can damage your hair that may lead to hair fall. Blow drying after a hair wash is very easy but it weakens the roots of the hair. Other than that the last-minute curling or straightening may help you to get the perfect hair for a time being, but that overheating can give excessive damage to your hair. Try to avoid using all these things to have a proper natural and healthy hair.

  • Sleep on a good pillow cover.

The pillow cover is a very important part. You spend at least 8-9 hours on that. So it’s very important that the pillow cover on which you’re sleeping should be clean and of good quality. This may sound a bit awkward but yes this hair care tip is very important. It would be nice to choose a silk pillow cover or a satin pillow cover because they’re soft and your hair won’t get tangled up if you sleep on them. Cotton pillow cover lovers won’t like it but yes they are not as good as the silk ones and can tangle your hair which can lead to damage.

  • Trim Your Hair

You should go for trimming your hair from time to time. It is good hair growth and keeping your hair healthy. Even if you’ve decided to grow out your short haircut or medium haircut, fall is the perfect time to trim the dry, fried, split ends that summer fun may have caused.

Don’t remove too much of the length at all, ask your hairstylist to be sure those ends are strong and intact. Letting split ends take hold can lead to weakening and breakage of the entire hair strand. Frequent hair trimmings are a great way to prevent this from happening.

Once again, the health of your hair is more important than how long it is. Focus on its health and before you even realize it, the length will come! Also it’s good to focus on your hair goals and get the perfect hair that you desire from time to time. But avoid using the heating tools on a daily basis, that will just make your hair weak and lead to damage and breakage.

Condition and keep your hair moisturized. A healthy scalp will help in the healthy growth of your hair.
