Public Health Shield for Corona Prevention
Post-graduate Institute of Medial Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh and Panjab University, Chandigarh releases a Public Health shield to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The Public health shield can be downloaded from the PGIMER website under medical alerts or from the Punjab university website.
Prof. Jagatram, Director, PGIMER said this public heath shield is an informative health education material to remind ourselves of the simple steps to stop the spread of coronavirus and avoid panic.
The shield was developed by Dr. Ravindra Khaiwal, Additional Professor of Environment Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh, and Dr. Suman Mor, Additional Professor and Chairperson, Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The public shield highlight the logo ‘simple action: Corona prevention (Saral Upay: Corona Bhagei) and depicts the simple measure for the public to remain safe and prevent the spread of disease.
Dr Suman Mor said it urges the common citizen to engage in simple practices such as handwashing with soap, cough etiquette, respectful distances, avoid social event and travel, stay home, health diet, calling the doctor if sick including yoga and meditations to remain clam under to avoid the panic created by the coronavirus.
Dr. Ravindra Khaiwal highlighted that public health shield is created for the general public to use online, print and display at a prominent place to aware public and urges them to adopt these simple preventive practices in daily life and promote them, which minimize the risk and spread of coronavirus.
