UNITED SIKHS reaches out to the victims of violence in New Delhi

March 02, 2020, New Delhi: More than 200 people injured while more than 40 are dead in the recent violence that took place at various places in New Delhi between the protestors and supporters of CAA i.e. Citizens Amendment Act. People from both the sides turned violent and harmed the members of the other side. Unfortunately they were equipped with weapons and therefore the extent of damage was very high. Some of the religious places and public property was also vandalised.

Right from the start of violence, UNITED SIKHS team stood by the victims irrespective of their caste or creed and extended their support both morally, physically and monetarily. The team reached out to the injured in GTB Hospital, Dilshad Garden, New Delhi and catred to their immediate needs.

The immensity of the violence can be judged with the condition of the injured. Just a difference of opinion has given birth to differences within citizens of the country. People are ready to kill each other and this is not a healthy sign. We need to believe that we are children of one God”, said S. Pritam Singh, Director UNITED SIKHS

UNITED SIKHS reached out to the victims of violence in New Delhi. According to the needs enunciated by the victims, team UNITED SIKHS, led by S. Pritam Singh and S. Parvinder Singh visited Chamanpark, Shaktipark, Bapu Nagar and Shiv Vihar, which are few amongst various places where violence took place. Since, it was learnt that the prices of milk and water had risen, the team distributed kits containing milk, biscuits, bread and various eatables to victims and their families.

Sikhism teaches us to love everyone irrespective of different thoughts and process of worship one believes in. We, the UNITED SIKHS team have been supporting the victims and the injured and are serving them irrespective of whichever group they belong to. I, on behalf of my team, appeal the citizens of my country to love each other and stay united,” said S. Parminder Singh, Volunteer UNITED SIKHS.

As the victims and their families are in a state of shock and are afraid to go out of their houses even for medical treatments, UNITED SIKHS, in furtherance of their help, is planning to organize medical camps in the nearby areas of recent violence. Nothing is possible without the support of the sangat. We appeal to the sangat to come forward and contribute in support of the victims and their families.
