CBSE has allowed face masks and sanitizers
The CBSE has allowed the students and other staff to use masks and sanitizers during the ongoing board exams. The secretary of MHRD has asked the CBSE and the state to spread awareness among the school students on the basic preventive measures against COVID-19.
Amit Khare, the secretary of MHRD, said in his letter that in order to create awareness among students, preventive interventions such as frequent hand wash, respiratory etiquettes (using handkerchief over mouth while coughing! sneezing, use of tissue paper or using the sleeve of shirt covering the upper arm, staying away from school when sick, avoiding public gatherings, etc.) would help in preventing, reducing transmission of not only this disease but also a large number of other communicable diseases, notably flu-like illnesses. Further, such informed youth can be agents of change for their family, community and beyond.
Several inquiries have been received by the CBSE from parents and students regarding the permission of putting face masks and sanitizers because of the Corona Virus outbreak, in view of these inquiries, it has been cleared that the sanitizers can be carried by the students if they want to in the examination centers.
