CM takes up matter regarding stranded Himachalis in Ukraine with MEA
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has urged the Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to take necessary measures for facilitating the safe evacuation of people of the State from Ukraine who have been stranded there due to conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
In a letter to the Union External Affairs Minister, Chief Minister while appreciating and supporting the efforts of the Ministry of External Affairs said that as per the preliminary information over 130 people of Himachal Pradesh were stranded in Ukraine. He said that the State Government was concerned regarding the safety and security of its people. He said the Chief Secretary was already in touch with the Foreign Secretary in this regard.
Jai Ram Thakur also appreciated the efforts of the Ministry for setting up a Helpline in Ukraine as well as in New Delhi to provide assistance to the Indians stranded there.
