Shri Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa passed away here on early Thursday morning. He was tested positive for coronavirus.
This was tweeted by K B S Sidhu Secretary Punjab Government.

Hazoori Raagi of Golden Temple, Bhai Nirmal Singh was a Padma Shri awardee.

He breathe his last at 4:30 AM today on Thursday. People from across the walls have demised the death of Bhai Nirmal Singh Ji.

On Wednesday Dr.Sujata Sharma Principal, government medical college had confirmed that Nirmal Singh was tested positive for coronavirus and was admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhdeep Kaur Johal said that Raagi breathed his last in the isolation ward of the hospital.

As per the Medical college bulletin, a team of health department had visited Raagi’s house after receiving reports that his guests from the USA were staying at his house since March 3.

She said the department examined the guests and advised all of them including his family members and two sewadars for home quarantine.

It is also mentioned that the Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa on March 19, two days after 14 days quarantine period, went to Chandigarh where he held a kirtan samagam in a house in sector 27 A which was attended by around a hundred people adding that Chandigarh administration had been informed about Raagi’s visit for further action.
