Imran Khan announced – No need of any Passport for Sikh Pilgrims to visit Kartarpur

Imran Khan, The Prime Minister of Pakistan on Friday announced that Sikh pilgrims from India would not need any passport to travel to Kartarpur and also not pay any amount from the opening day of the corridor on the 9th of November.

Sikhs coming for the pilgrimage to Katarpur from India. Imran Khan tweeted that they won’t need any passport-just a valid ID and no longer has to register 10 days in advance. Also not pay any charge on the day of inauguration and on Guruji’s birthday.

The corridor of Kartarpur will connect the Baba Nanak shrine in India’s Punjab with Darbar Sahib at Kartarpur and it is just 4 km from the International border.

Last week India and Pakistan signed the agreement on the corridor that will allow Indian pilgrims to undertake a free visa to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib. The agreement will allow five thousand Indians daily to visit Gurdwara where Guru Nanak spent the last years of his life.

Every visitor would be required to pay USD 20 as a fee. Amarinder Singh the Chief Minister of Punjab said he was grateful that the Pakistan government decided to waive passport requirement for Sikh pilgrims visiting Kartarpur Sahib.
